Sometimes we all need to have a person rebranding.
Maybe you’re not entirely happy with your life right now or you feel like you’re not confident enough.
Or perhaps you’re too anxious.
You might even feel like there’s someone within you that’s just screaming to get out.
So, in this post I want to show you how you can reinvent yourself.
And I would really encourage you to think of this more as a personal rebranding, rather than just completely stripping away your old self and installing a new personality in you.
Reinventing myself is something that I’ve done a lot of in my life.
It’s helped to:
- Become more confident
- Find my purpose
- Start my coaching business
- And much more…
So, I’m going to show you how you can reinvent yourself with just 8 simple steps.
Step 1) Understand What Kind of Person You Want To Be
The first step to learning how you can reinvent yourself is to ask what kind of person you want to be.
Do you want to be confident? If so, what does that look like to you?
Do you want to be successful? And does that mean in terms of wealth, experiences or something else?
Do you want to be more caring and loving?
The question really is: how would you want to live in an ideal world?
What kind of a person would you want to be?
This first step is really more to do with your thoughts, mindset and the kind of person you want to show up as in the world.
And the most important part of this step is deciding for yourself and not because you think other people want you to be a certain way.
Step 2) What Kind of Person Are You Right Now?
Next you need to very clear on what kind of a person you are right now.
And this is going to involve a lot of critical introspection.
And you've got to give yourself some very serious and honest answers to questions like:
- What do you like about yourself and what do you not like?
- What do you want to keep and what do you want to get rid of?
- Are there things that you simply just want to update in your life?
- What do you want to downgrade in importance?
- What do you want to upgrade in importance
- And what do you want to just eliminate all together?
You will need to make sure that you are very clear and honest about the kind of person you are now.
After all, you can’t start moving forward and reinventing yourself if you don’t know where you stand right now.
Step 3) Write It All Down
The next step is to write all of this information down.
Write down all of your thoughts, feelings and emotions about who you are and who you want to be in as much detail as possible,
And you can structure this part in whatever way you want.
You just have to make it really clear how you truly feel about both of these concepts.
Step 4) What Steps Do You Need To Take?
Next you have to identify what kinds of things that you need to do to become the person that you want to be.
You have to think about how to bridge the gap between who you are and who you want to be.
And this gap needs to be filled with new actions, behaviours and changes in life.
So, if you want to reinvent yourself as an athletic person, what kinds of things would you need to do and be to get there?
Step 5) Make An Action Plan
Now you need to start structuring those new actions into very clear action steps.
You need to decide what you’re going to be doing on a daily, weekly, monthly or yearly basis.
At first, you’ll want this action plan to be as detailed and clear as possible.
You are creating a roadmap to the new you.
Step 6) Keep A Reminder
Find a way to remind yourself every single day what kind of person you’re becoming.
Whether that is through creating a vision board or just keep a mission statement on your wall, make sure you have a way to remember who you’re becoming.
It’s so easy to fall back into old habits and patterns.
So, make sure that you have that reminder somewhere close.
That way, when you begin to veer off course you can bring yourself back on track.
Step 7) Keep A Journal
Next, you’ll need to get yourself a journal.
And yes, you’ll want record your general thoughts and feelings throughout this process.
However, there is a more important reason for your new journaling habit.
You’re going to start tracking instances when you see your new self shining through.
Some way to track instances when you see your brand new version of yourself shining through.
So if you’re trying to becoming a more confident person, you might record instances when you:
- Introduced yourself to new people
- Stepped out of your comfort zone
- Asserted yourself boldly
And the more you journal the times in your life when your new self shines through, the more important you make those times in your life.
And you’re unconscious mind will take note of this and will start to deliver more of these experiences to you.
The more you focus and take note of those times, the easier it is to become the brand new you!
Step 8) Self-Compassion
The final step of learning how you can reinvent yourself is using the power of self-compassion.
It can be so easy to think that the person that we used to be as being inferior, dumb or stupid.
And in reality, that's not the case.
That was simply the person that you used to be who existed with the tools and information you had at the time.
And in this moment, right now, there's nothing wrong with the way that you are.
You are the best possible version of yourself right now, based on what you know, what you've learned and what you've taken action on.
This is a process of improvement, but it doesn't mean that who you are right now is a horrible bit of trash, which needs to be just thrown out.
That’s not what this process is about.
So, I would highly encourage you to hold a place of compassion for yourself throughout this process.
You have to treat yourself like your own best friend.
Then you will be able to move forward towards the things that you want more easily.
It's all about improvement.
We're never going to be perfect.
We can only strive to be better versions of ourselves.

It made me this version of myself who is loving and caring and wants to help people.
And I am always striving to become a little bit better every single day.
